Mixed MOSFET Lots: A Sorting and Purchasing Checklist

Keep markings, manufacturers and visible conditions separate when evaluating mixed used MOSFET lots for a bulk purchase.

What makes a lot mixed?

For purchasing purposes, a mixed MOSFET lot contains groups that differ in the identity or condition information needed for your approval. Differences can include markings, stated manufacturers, date codes or visible processing. Define which differences matter for your order before sampling, and preserve those groups through packing and receipt.

Record the groups before comparing prices

Ask for a group-by-group list with stated part number, manufacturer, count and actual photographs. Do not treat the carton total as the available quantity of a single approved device. If identification remains uncertain, label that group unconfirmed and exclude it from an exact-MPN quotation until the gap is resolved.

Do not merge matching short markings automatically

An abbreviated marking may need manufacturer and package context. Keep the visible marking separate from the proposed full ordering code. Use our marking identification guide to assemble an evidence request. Similar text is a reason to investigate, not permission to combine stock records.

Agree a sampling approach for the actual groups

A sample drawn from one visible group does not describe unrelated groups in the shipment. Ask which population the results represent, record the selection method and agree the disposition process. Keep engineering validation separate from condition screening. The sample-to-bulk guide helps carry those decisions into the order.

Keep approved groups separate during shipping

Specify labels and packing that preserve the agreed group identity. Check photographs before dispatch and compare the received labels with the purchase record. Do not mix parts into common stock before resolving unexplained differences. Refer to our packaging and shipping checklist for dispatch evidence.

Price the approved quantity

Compare offers using the quantity that actually meets the agreed requirements, together with sorting and inspection work. Record who handles rejected or unidentified parts and how discrepancies affect the order. Avoid presenting a mixed-lot purchase as uniform tested stock without evidence that supports that description.
